Our Programs

Goals

Through our specially tailored programs, children are exposed to many subjects using an effective thematic approach to curriculum.  All activities are adapted to meet the developmental needs of the chilren and contribute to:

  • stimulating physical growth
  • providing for socialization
  • arousing the thought process
  • encouraging choices
  • sharpening thinking skills

The curriculum is planned to stimulate the curiosity and challenge the skills of each child.

Curriculum

Our curriculum addresses all developmental areas: social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and language.  Through a series of themes, we cover content by offering a wide variety of hands on activities for the children to engage in.  Young children learn by doing.  Our classroom is set-up so that the children can move from one learning center to another, sharing experiences with their peers, and trying new things to increase their skills and build on previously acquired knowledge.

At TNS you may observe children experimenting with color mixing in the sensory table; practicing one to one correspndence with bear counters; “writing” signs, counting money and selling vegetables at a farm stand; reading at the book center; or building a castle in the block area.

Special Programs

Lunch Bunch

Even our youngest children enjoy having lunch and extra playtime with their friends- and the extra time gives the caregiver some extra time also!  Lunch Bunch runs from 11:30-1 and parents can select which days their children will participate.

Extended Play

Extended play participants stay at the school from 11:30-2:15.  Children have lunch together and then engage in supervised play activities. Parents can select which days their children will participate.
